HMP Frankland Building work will be completed in early spring 2004 for 80 place new development. Prisoners will be housed in eight self-supporting units of ten.
The ground and first floors have been designed to allow each floor to work independently or interact, depending on their purpose. The two main living areas will be joined by a link building for activities that will support treatment (primarily cognitive-behavioural therapy), including education, occupational therapy, gymnasium and primary care medical facilities. The multi-disciplinary project team is currently developing regime and treatment programmes in readiness for their first prisoners. For further information contact: Dave Matthews |
